I usually turn down requests, but got somewhat lucky since his request was close to what I wanted to try and draw myself. And what I wanted to draw was metals. This was supposed to be a quick project but it got a bit out of hands and I spent way too much time fiddling with this.
War machine is a character from Fallout Equestria: Outlaw by Tofu. Haven't read the fic myself, I just drew this from given description. Heh... And I was worried I was going overboard with weaponry with that raider drawing of mine. This chap is equipped with autocannon, minigun, rocket launcher and ballistic hooves.
I also put up an imgur album with wips if you happen to be interested how I do the things I do [link].
That's about it I guess... Feedback is welcome etc.
I like this picture so much, you don't even know. I really do enjoy your art style. The design of the suit itself looks good. It has that tough, bulky quality that makes the Rangers so intimidating. (their guns help with that too, of course) Having the little dings and imperfections, like the crack in the eye and various chips in the armor, are a very nice touch that lend to a more authentic feel. You can definitely see this guy trudging around the Wastes, taking shots and returning them. The perspective works effectively here. His pose and the angle we see his head make him look that much more stoic and indomitable. and, as many have pointed out already, the perspective on the autocannon is just superb and inspires me to try to work on more perspective-y things myself. Finally, the values at work herre. I honestly can't help myself looking at all the little edges and planes. The rendering plays up the metallic quality well and has a smoothness to it that is pleasing to my eye. No detail seems to be lost. The position of the guns, as well as the background graphics create a nice dynamic feel that draw all attention to the Ranger. Hell of a dramatic presence.
I apologize for not having more in the way of improvement tips and whatnot, but really this is one of my favorite FOE pieces I've seen in a while.
